Victoria Seed Share is a tiny group of community-minded folks who came into a trove of donated vegetable seeds, early in 2020. Based on the principles of Mutual Aid, we share seeds with folks who need them. New garden? Small space? No budget? VSS wants to lower the barriers to growing our own food by making seeds accessible.
We aim to distribute small amounts of free seed to as many folks as need them in the CRD. Our target is to help people with new gardens, small spaces, or limited resources. If you can afford to buy yourself new seeds- please leave our seeds for folks who need them, and perhaps consider sharing your seeds with us!
We also partner with other food security initiatives! Last year we supplied bulk seed for FED, and VicWest Little Free Libraries. In 2021 we hope to scale up to include School Gardens, Get Growing Victoria, and other Little Free Libraries throughout the CRD.
