On Sunday, May 20, Jane Rabinowicz and Heather Pritchard were at the Richmond Sharing Farm meeting with Harold Steves of Steveston Stock and Seed, Erica Sims from the Sharing Farm, Robert Giardino, Jeanette McCall and Mark McDonald of West Coast Seeds, Jessica Dennis from UBC farm, and other community seed activists, growers and volunteers at the gardens.

A big part of the day was the round table meeting where the focus of the discussion was the seed initiative and to help determine a direction for the seed initiative next year. Jane is exploring major issues facing producers and there was a huge issue around the need for organic seed and the horrendous regulations surrounding the certification of organic seeds which is making it difficult for small-scale organic growers which she indicated is similar across the country.
