FarmFolk CityFolk, Young Agrarians and the BC Food Systems Network are collaborating to raise money to support young food producers to attend the Network’s 14th Annual Conference on Gambier Island, from July 5th – July 8th, 2012!
Young food growers often have limited financial resources and are unable to attend the Conference unless sponsored. Less than 5% of BC’s food producers are 34 and under, with over 50% 59 and up. Our focus is to support the next generation of food producers to build relationships and connections to resources that will support them to grow food and thrive.
This annual Gathering is the premier food security event in the province and gives participants the opportunity to learn about current initiatives, build and strengthen alliances, and collectively advance our understanding of food policy issues. The Gathering is held in a different community each year, giving people in various regions the opportunity to increase skills and share information.
This year’s theme is Reclaiming our Food Systems: Policy and Practice. We will showcase creative projects that reclaim elements of the system, and develop focused strategies for influencing the direction of food policy.
FarmFolk CityFolk will provide charitable tax receipts for all donations made.
We thank you for your support!
