Salt Spring Seedy Saturday
February 9 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm$5
The 2019 Farm and Gardening season is here! Island Natural Growers invite you to get in touch with your earthly roots and join in Salt Spring Seedy Saturday on February 9th. This year’s feature family is the Chenopodiaceae, AKA the Goosefoot Family. Beets, Spinach, Chard, Quinoa, Sorrel, and Purslsane all come to us from this lineage, and their trusty and probing taproots lend this family a hardiness that sustains the calendar year. What’s more, this event will raise funds towards the launch of Salt Spring’s innovative local food centre, The Root.
Take part in the famous Seed Swap and Plant Sale, Free Workshops, Informative talks, Farm and Political Advocacy, Prepared Food Vendors, and Kids Table. This is the annual fair and social that must be attended. Seed and plant vendors from Vancouver Island and Salt Spring will be offering all of the plants you are hoping to find in your garden this year. $
