Organic Production Research Field Day at UBC Farm

Join us for a field day hosted by the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at UBC Farm! We will provide an opportunity for researchers to share their cutting-edge applied research directly with producers, while producers will have the opportunity to offer input on research priorities. This event is focused on providing information for organic and ecologically-oriented producers and aspiring producers on how they can enhance their operations through the exploration of evidence-based best management practices. Those with interest in carrot production may also be interested in attending a field day on 16 October.

About your host:
Dr. Lisa Powell is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at UBC Farm and the Food and Agriculture Institute at the University of the Fraser Valley. Her research focuses on agricultural land use, regional food systems, food policy, new crop opportunities, and food literacy. Another significant aspect of her work is translating research into usable formats that can be made available to farmers, food processors, educators, policy makers, and others working with food systems. She leads BC Food Web , a resource to improve access to sustainable food systems information.
